Lisabeth Christy is a professional photographer based out of Washington, DC. In addition to her photography work, Lisabeth Christy contributes to a number of charitable organizations. In 2005, she worked with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for individuals in need.
Each year, during the week leading up to Mother’s Day, Habitat for Humanity hosts National Women Build Week. During this time, women involved with Habitat for Humanity are encouraged to devote at least one day of the week to working against poverty housing. The week before Mother’s Day was chosen by the organization to emphasize the overwhelming number of parents, children, and families in need of permanent shelter. Events are held all over the United States, ranging from Coeur d’Alene , Idaho, to Miami, Florida, and local events can be found on the Habitat for Humanity website. National Women Build Week is sponsored by Lowe’s. Lowe’s, which has contributed more than $40 million to the organization.
